Functional thermal spraying technology has been continuously developed and its applications widely expanded since the middle of 20th century. TOCALO’s growth and development is tightly connect to the history of the advances made in thermal spraying technology, and we are continuing to develop new innovations for the future of surface modification technology.

1951 Established Toyo Calorizing Industry Co., Ltd. in Higashinada-ku, Kobe
1958 Commenced research of metal thermal spraying
1959 Constructed the Tokyo Plant
1960 Started full-scale thermal spraying business

2001 Absorption merger by JAFCO SIG Co., Ltd., rescinded over-the-counter registration
Ended the tender offer of TOCALO Co., Ltd.
Acquired 97.9% of issued shares and became parent company of TOCALO Co., Ltd.
Relocated the head office to Higashinada-ku, Kobe
Merged with TOCALO Co., Ltd. and changed the trade name to TOCALO Co., Ltd.
Renamed two TOCALO plants: the Kokura No.2 Plant became the Kitakyushu Plant, the Kokura Plant became the Kitakyushu No.2 Plant
Opened the Yamanashi Office
